Although the 2020 election is drawing near, Cardi B already has her sight set on another potential presidential candidate for the next time the Oval Office will be up for grabs.
On Friday, New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez posted an Instagram Story of herself talking about unequal access to dental care while Cardi B's song "Bodak Yellow" played in the background. The song features the lyrics, "Got a bag and fixed my teeth / Hope you hoes know it ain't cheap / And I pay my mama bills / I ain't got no time to chill."
"I had to GET ELECTED TO CONGRESS for me to afford dental treatment," AOC wrote over the video. "This is my first time having health insurance in years. ... In other words, I got a bag and fixed my teeth." She concluded by making a case for Medicare for All, writing, "EVERYONE deserves this. Healthcare is a right."
Fans quickly shared the video on Twitter, catching Cardi's attention.
"She better run for president when she turns 35," Cardi later tweeted.
AOC responded to the rapper's encouraging message to run for office with her own spin on "WAP," Cardi's latest hit single featuring Megan Thee Stallion.
"Women Against Patriarchy (WAP) 2020," the representative wrote back.
